WAW -viikko osa I: Terri-Eri / WAW -week part I : World Terrier Show

Ihan kreisi WAW (World Aussie Week) - viikko... 

Johon sisältyi lukuisia ystäviä Suomesta ja ympäri maailmaa, tiukkoja aikatauluja, hyvin lyhyitä yöunia,  hauskoja illanviettoja, trimmausta, trimmausta ja vielä kerran trimmausta. Mistä tunnisti terrieri-ihmisen elokuun puolivälissä? Peukalon ja etusormen iho oli paksuuntunut ja muistutti enemmänkin kantapäätä.

Viikko siis alkoi terrierien juhlalla eli

World Terri-Eri 6.8.

Keskiviikkona 6.8.  oli terrierien erikoisnäyttely World Terrier Show, joka keräsi Hakunilaan yli 1500 terrieriä ympäri maailman. Ausseja oli ilmoitettu kunnioitettavat yli 80, joista pennut + urokset arvosteli Virginia Latham Smith USA:sta ja nartut + Ropit Dianne Barclay Australiasta. Heti pennuissa päivä alkoi hyvin, kun Tytin eli Melukylän Valo-Isan pennut ottivat sekä ROP että VSP -pentuvoitot. Onnittelut Jennille ja pennuille (Finsweng Sokka Irti & Finsweng Silirimpsis)!

Uroksissa päivän parhaan suorituksen teki Melukylän Älyn Häly elikä kuuluisa Rändi-Man, Lötjösen Leenan mettäkoira. Rändi ravasi junnuluokan voitosta PU2:ksi, ohi kaikkien valioiden ja suoraan monen ihmisen sydämiin. On se meidän Rändi ihmeellinen koira: pojalla on ikää alle vuosi ja muutama hassu näyttely takanaan, mutta enemmän faneja ja jalostuskäyttöpyyntöjä kuin kenelläkään tuntemallani uroksella. Rändillä taitaa olla se maaginen tatsi tassuissaan.... Kiitos Leena Rändin managerin hommista ;-)

Melukylän Älyn Häly aka Rändi Man
the 2nd Best Male at the World Terrier Show with 80 entered aussies

Nartuissa ensin Rändin sisko Melukylän Ääni Valolle, meidän koti-Valo siis, voitti 13 ilmoitetun nartun junnuluokan, ja myöhemmin Keskimaan Piian Rätti, Melukylän Pikkumusta, teki saman isossa avoimessa luokassa pikkuSadun taitavasti handlaamana. Loppukisassa Rätti päätyi ihan mahtavasti PN3 -sijalle, mutta se kuuluisa vika serti jäi taas kerran saamatta, sillä tuolla sijoituksella saaliina oli vara-serti. No huh huh, kyllä kisa on kovaa jos 80 aikuisesta ei PU2 tai PN3 -sijoitukset riitä sertiin... :-D

Rotunsa parasta junnua valittaessa kilpakumppaneina olivat siis sisarukset Kuningatar Kumman vikasta pentueesta. Tuomari oli tuossa vaiheessa jo jotensakin väsynyt, sillä hänelle ei ollut edes selvää kumpi edusti kumpaa sukupuolta, mutta Roppi-ruusuke päätyi Valon tassuun. BIS-junnukisassa Valo pääsi vielä jatkoon seitsemän parhaan joukkoon. Aikamoinen suoritus tytön toisessa näyttelyssä.

PikkuSatu vei vielä nämä 10-kuiset sisarukset Rändin ja Valon parikilpailuun, ja hämmästyttävää handlerikykyä osoittaen Satu pystyi handlaamaan molemmat upealle BIS3 -sijoitukselle! Bravo mikä suoritus ja hatunnoston paikka!

Terri-Erin tuloksiin tyytyväisenä Valo jää nyt kotiin ja päästää isosiskonsa Tutun parrasValoihin, Valon aika tulee myöhemmin.

World Terri-Eri 6.8.

The WAW (World Aussie Week) started with the Terrier Specialty, with over 1500 entered terriers. A heaven for the terrier person. There were over 80 entered aussies, males & puppies were judged by Virginia Latham Smith from USA and bitches & BOB's by Dianne Barclay from Australia.

Clever as I am, I'd thought that I'll have plenty of time for trimming at the show grounds. Which was of course complete nonsense, since there were so many old and new international friends around that I spent my time greeting everyone and getting to know new aussie people, so finally I had some minutes to trim an aussie bitch. And the result was obvious, and I must say I'm ashamed to let any of my aussies to the ring with a trim like that. But hey, if I need to choose between getting a new friend or a perfectly groomed dog, of course I choose a new friend!

The day started well when the BOB-puppy went to Finsweng Sokka Irti and BOS-puppy to Finsweng Silirimpsis, both out of Melukylän Valo-Isa, bred by Jenni Wahteristo. 

In males, the best result was done by Melukylän Älyn Häly aka Rändi Man, who trotted from the junior class win to the 2nd Best Male, winning all the champions on the way. Seems Rändi trotted to the hearts of many at the same time, I've never known an aussie male with so many fans and so many stud request, and Rändi the Man is still under one year of age and has been only in a couple of shows. He certainly has that magic touch and an air of charisma around him, our lovely Rändi. Thank you Leena for doing the managerial job!

In bitches Rändi's sister M. Ääni Valolle aka Valo did a super job by winning the big junior class (13 junior bitches). Then Melukylän Pikkumusta aka Rätti did the same in a big open class (14 open bitches), skillfully handled by Satu Virtanen. In the final Best Bitch line Rätti got an amazing 3rd place and received the res-CC. Super thanks to Satu who worked hard the whole day, handling several dogs. 

For the BOB -junior the judge had litter sibblings to choose from, and sister Valo was her choice. At the BIS -junior competition in the final rings she was also chosen among seven best juniors, which was quite an achievement for this 10 months old girl in her second show ever. 

And that was not all, since Satu took these 10-month old sibblings to the brace competition, and managed to handle them to the BIS3 -placement! That is something, thank you Satu!

There were also many others of my breeding or co-owned dogs taking part and doing a great job. BIG big thanks to all the owners for entering their dogs to this super terrier happening!
